Evergreen
The forecast is for terrific weather on Sat in the 70s, so let's get out there and ride! Todd Collins (one of our two fearless training ride leaders has boldly agreed to lead us this weekend on a ride starting at 9am sharp at the Evergreen Boathouse (please allow plenty of time to get ready to go at the start). Take I-70 West to Evergreen Parkway (74) towards Evergreen for 7 miles. Before you get into the town of Evergreen, Evergreen Lake on the right side. You will see the Evergreen Lake as you descend into town. As you approach the lake, take a right onto Upper Bear Creek Road. Drive around to the parking in front of the Lake House.
Ride summary: Downtown Evergreen, Little Cub Creek Rd., Stanley Pk. Rd., High Dr., N. Turkey Creek Rd., S. Turkey Creek Rd., Tiny Town, Indian Hills, Parmalee/Meyers Gulch, Kittredge, Evergreen, Meadow Dr., Highway 74, Albertson’s, Lake House.
Ride detailed directions: From the Evergreen Lake House ride ___ miles into downtown Evergreen. At the stoplight below the dam turn right (south) onto Colo. 73. Follow Colo. 73 ___ miles to Little Cub Creek Rd. Turn left on Little Cub Creek Rd. and ride 1.5 miles to Stanley Park Rd. Turn left (north) onto Stanley Park Rd. and ride 1.5 miles to the Y in the road. Bear right at Y ( Left leads to Bear Mtn. Dr.) and continue ___ miles on Stanley Park Rd. The road then turns into High Dr. Follow High Dr. 4 miles to N. Turkey Creek Rd. Turn left (east) onto N. Turkey Creek Rd. and ride 1.5 miles to S. Turkey Creek Rd. Turn left (south) onto S. Turkey Creek Rd. and ride 1.5 miles through Tiny Town to Highway 285. Turn right on Highway 285 and ride on the shoulder ___ mile to Indian Hills and Parmalee Gulch Rd. Turn left (northwest) onto Parmalee Gulch Rd. and continue 4 miles up to the top (Day Plumbing and Heating) where the road turns into Meyers Gulch Rd. Continue on 2 miles until the road intersects with Highway 74 in Kittredge. Turn left (west) on Highway 74 and ride 2 miles to Evergreen. Turn right (west) just past the Bradley gas station onto Meadow Dr. Follow Meadow Dr. past the 7-11 for 1 mile. Meadow Dr. turns into Douglas Park Rd., then intersects with Highway 74. Turn left (south) on Highway 74 and ride back to the Lake House. Option: From Kittredge turn right (east) on Highway 74 and ride .75 miles to Kerr Gulch Rd, (At the County Rd. Shop). Follow Kerr Gulch Rd 4 miles to the junction with Highway 74. Turn left (west) on Highway 74, ride 1 mile to Bergen Park, then 5 miles back to the Lake House.
Ride Difficulty: Round Trip: 23 miles 2700 ft. elevation gain. w/Option: 28 miles 3100 ft. elevation gain.
