Highlands/Lookout Mountain Loop
First, I want to say thanks to Todd for hosting last week's ride from the Highlands. Due to the rain, not many showed up for the ride, so we will try this terrific route again on Saturday! Route: Start from 3051 Newton street, go North 1/2 block and turn Left on 32nd Avenue. Stay on 32nd Ave. for 10.2 miles. At 10.2 miles, 32nd Ave. turns into 13th Street by the Coors plant in Golden. (Starbucks on the corner of 13th and Washington is a good place to make a pit stop if needed). Continue on 13th street for 0.3 miles and go Left on Illinois St. Go 0.4 miles and turn Right on 19th street. After 0.3 miles, pass through the major intersection at 6th Avenue and start the climb up Lookout Mountain. The turn around point is at the top of Lookout Mountain at the sign for Buffalo Bill's Museum. You made it! Head back down the way you came up. Cross back through the intersection at 6th Ave and 19th Street. From the intersection, stay on 19th street for 0.3 miles and turn Left on Illinois Street. Go 0.4 miles and turn Right onto 13th Street. Stay on 13th street, which turns into 32nd Ave. by the Coors plant. Follow 32nd Ave 10.2 miles to Newton and turn Right on Newton.
