Though we had previously planned to ride Sedalia, WoJ host has advised us that the Renaissance Fair scheduled for that area will put a damper on our joy due to lots of added car traffic. So we will offer a new Castle Rock ride with 32 Mile and 45 mile options. Thanks Darin for the head's up and leadership!
Meeting Location: - Safeway parking lot. Take I25 south to exit 181 (Plum Creek Pkwy).turn left at bottom of exit ramp, go under interstate, through the first stoplight, right at second stoplight. You will see the Safeway on your left shortly.
Rides:
32 mile (1800 ft of climbing) - Plum Creek Pkwy to Lake Gulch. Right on Lake Gulch to Highway 83. Right on 83 to Russelville Rd. Left on Russelville, which rejoins 83 after 8 miles. Right on 83 to Franktown. Left on Hwy 86, which goes all the way in to Castle Rock. Left on Perry St, which takes you back to Safeway. This is the 32 mile Elephant Rock Course, albeit in reverse.
45 mile (2500 ft of climbing) - Plum Creek Pkwy to a right on Lake Gulch, right on Hwy. 83, left on Russelville, right on Deefield, right on Hwy.86 and an immediate left on Flintwood, left on Democrat, right on Pradera, left on Crowfoot and right on Founders.
