Lookout Mountain, Genesee, Morrison, Golden Loop

Ride Route: We will start in the parking lot at the base of Lookout Mountain in Golden for a ride up to Buffalo Bill's Grave, where we'll stop and wait for everyone to catch up. We'll then proceed up Lookout Mtn. Rd. to Colorow, where we'll ascend all the way to the top to the Boettcher Mansion. The route continues past the Boettcher Mansion and links up again to Lookout Mtn. Rd., where we'll make a fast descent to Hwy. 40, stopping once again to wait for the rest of the group. Making a right onto Hwy. 40, we'll ride uphill to Genesee, crossing over I-70 and following the frontage road through the Genesee neighborhoods (don't forget to look up at the Flying Saucer House made famous in the movie "Sleeper") to the Lookout Mtn. Rd. exit off of I-70, where we'll link up again to Hwy. 40. Hang on to your handlebars for a quick descent toward the Morrison Exit. (It's here that those wishing to peel off ca n continue taking Hwy. 40 to Heritage Rd., Making a left onto Heritage, you can follow it and cross over Hwy. 6 into the County Government park. Follow the street and make a left on Johnson Rd. Take Johnson to S. Golden Rd. and make a left, taking S. Golden Rd. to 19th St. Make another left and take 19th over Hwy. 6 and back to the parking lot at the base of Lookout Mtn.) For those continuing the ride, we'll make a right at the bottom of the Hwy 40 descent onto County Rd. 26/93 toward Red Rocks. We'll ride into Red Rocks Park all the way to Bear Creek Rd., taking a left onto Bear Creek Rd. and riding into Morrison. In Morrison, we'll link up to 93 and ride up over Dinosaur Ridge, linking up with Rooney Rd. We'll take Rooney Rd. north to Hwy. 40, take a left onto Hwy. 40 to Heritage Rd., then follow it up through the County Government park to Johnson Rd. We'll take a left on Johnson and another left on S. Golden Rd, going to 19th St. Left on 19th all the way bac k to the parking lot at the base of Lookout Mtn.
Total Distance: Approximately 35 miles. Hope to see you there!
