Ride Summary / Distance / Ride Difficulty:

This ride has a flat start with some moderate climbs in Chatfield Park.  Then onto great climbs through Deer Creek Canyon and High Grade, with great views of Denver and some great winding roads.  This is definitely a good test two weeks before the Courage Classic.  The ride is 46 miles, affords 3,333 feet of climbing, and is moderately difficult.  I am estimating this to take 4 – 4 ½ hours.

Ride Description / Route:

We will ride from the parking lot up Santa Fe through Chatfield Reservoir.  There is about 12 miles of flat with some mild climbs before we begin the ascent up Deer Creek.  After ascending Deer Creek we will ascend High Grade where we can get some water and rest.  We will then wind down into the Turkey Creek area and out to City View with GREAT views of the Denver Metro area.  The ride then winds back to the Deer Creek area where we will come back through Chatfield to the starting point in Highlands Ranch.
