Andiamo Wheels of Justice!

WATCH OUT! APPAREL DEADLINE AHEAD!! Sign up for Wheels of Justice Apparel by May 20! As we did last year, we will offer CUSTOM WoJ apparel as a fundraising bonus to our great team riders (in addition to the all-team training shirts already ordered). Those who commit to raise of donate $500 or more will receive a totally cool WoJ custom Primal cycling jersey and those who commit to raise or donate $1000 or more will ALSO receive a sharp WoJ wind jacket. This apparel will only be available to those who: a) commit by May 20 to raise or donate these amounts, b) submit an order form through the WoJ team website and then c) actually achieve these fundraising levels. Due to our budget constraints this year, no extras will be ordered – so be sure to order yours before 5/20. Pictures of the jersey and wind jacket, and ordering details are now posted on our team website, http://www.wheelsofjusticecycling.org/2009/SWAG.htmlRemember, fundraising with the couragetours.com email tools is amazingly easy, so aim for BOTH a jersey and jacket by committing to $1000 today!

TRAINING RIDE THIS SUNDAY 5/17: Lookout Mountain Coached Ride w/ Elite Cyclist Megan Hottman

Rider Sponsor / Leader: WoJ Coach Megan Hottman (email: meghottman@hotmail.com, Mobile: 303-968-8386 )
**See more info on Megan and her DFT Team below!

Meeting Location: Gravel lot before the Pillars at Lookout Mtn entrance (from intersection of Hwy 6 & 19th St in Golden, head west (uphill and you will see the pillars ahead and lot on left side of road)

Ride will start at 9:00 a.m. sharp ON SUNDAY. please RSVP.

Ride Summary / Distance / Ride Difficulty: Ascending

Lookout Mtn is a 5 mile-2000 vertical ft climb, then a fast descent back – a great place to learn and practice these essential skills for the Courage Classic. Megan says: “We will climb Lookout (which can take awhile depending on fitness levels) and then work on descending coming down. Last year we found that going up once was enough for people -very few wanted to do it twice. So we'll talk at the bottom, climb it once, talk at the top, and descend it once. Anticipated duration is 90 mins - 2 hours.

On the way up I'll have people work on these skills: turning around without steering sideways, drinking from bottle without looking down, moving around on the bike to keep back feeling fresh, gear selection for endurance events. Coming down the mtn the emphasis will be on descending skills.” Don’t miss this gang! You will ride faster, safer and more confidently after learning these skills!

Please RSVP to Megan by noon Saturday, if you will be going. Check the WoJ Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=58302100863&ref=nf for weather cancellation news (if any) by 8am Sunday.

**More on Coach Megan Hottman and her DFT Team: After giving full-time racing a go in 2008, Megan decided to re-enter the world of the gainfully-employed and resumed working as an attorney last October. She is an associate at a small firm in Boulder that specializes in consumer fraud litigation - a current case against people that scammed Olympic families out of Olympic tickets is what wooed her to the firm despite the 2 hour commute. Her love of cycling did not end there though -- she is director/owner of a premier women's cycling team, based out of Denver. The team name is "DFT p/b TREADS" and her new firm is the title sponsor of the team. Megan continues to race with the team at all local events and a handful of national-level events (so long as things at work are not too busy). Please read more about the team at: www.definedfitnesstraining.com

MORE EVENT SPONSORS NEEDED – FOR BOTH THE KICK-OFF PARTY AND COPPER TEAM PARTY!

If your firm or company would like to help support these amazing events and receive terrific publicity to boot, please let me know! Many vendors who provide services to the legal community (document services, accountants, etc.) find great value in associating their companies with these successful charitable events. Just ask ‘em and they might be interested!

Questions or concerns?  Please let me know.  Thanks for your terrific help so far  and see you on a training ride soon!

Happy Trails,

Heather
