Congrats Wheels of Justice!
A Kick-Off Party to Remember: Wow, by all accounts the WoJ Kick-Off Party last night was both and inspiration and a blast for the 100+ people who rocked the house at Delaney’s (I’m sorry that a business event in NYC kept me from being there). We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Kasi Gray of Baldwin Morgan & Rider who organized, fundraised, cajoled and even emceed the project into a fun night and a big success. Even the laptop stations worked (a first!).
Many thanks also to the other WoJ Leadership Council members who stepped up in a big way to volunteer and lead the way at the party: Bradley Scott, Heather Clark, Stacy Carpenter, Aaron Bradford, Brian Meegan, David Jones, Charlene Krogh, Denise Richardson, Carlos Migoya, Chuck Turner, Mary Kay Engel, Leslie Morgan, Alan Garber and Bernie Gehris.
Colorado Bar Association President Bill Walters congratulated the troops on our efforts so far and challenged us to do even more for our community!
We’re especially grateful to the speakers who reminded us why we do all of this on behalf of the kids, families and doctors at Children’s: Ann Benson Reidy and Kevin Reidy were kind enough to come to the party with their daughter Diana to share the story of their daughter Diana’s struggle with leukemia and the top-notch care they’ve received at Children’s Hospital. Their children Jack and Laura were at the party too. From the Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Dr Jorge DiPaola let us know how the hundreds of thousands of dollars raised by the Wheels of Justice go straight to helping kids and families across the Rocky Mountain region.
So let’s build on this great night to go forth into fundraising with the terrific online tools available to us through the Courage Classic website. When times are tough these families facing these life-threatening challenges need our help even more! So let’s make this year the best ever!
2) Recruit Other Courage Classic Registered Riders to WoJ: The Courage Classic is now CLOSED OUT at 2000 riders. But you can still recruit to build our team. If you know of anyone who is already registered for the Courage Classic but NOT affiliated with a team, please encourage them to join us. They’ll get awesome parties, training rides, free coached rides, access to free swag, great camaraderie and the knowledge that all funds raised will go straight to the Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. What’s not to like? So please do your best to recruit other riders who are already registered for the Courage Classic. Currently, 168 riders have signed up for the WoJ team. Thanks for all you’ve done to spread the word.
