Howdy Team:

I’m just back from the Iron Horse Classic in Durango over Memorial Day weekend – truly an epic and beautiful ride (50 miles from Durango up to Silverton) with great community support. http://www.ironhorsebicycleclassic.com/profile I recommend this one highly!

Also best of luck to those riding in the Elephant Rock Ride on June 7 – if you have Wheels of Justice apparel, why not wear it proudly?  You’ll be a great advertisement for both the team and the Courage Classic!

1) Swoosh!  Up go the Fundraising Pages:  So this weekend marks the beginning our 2 month fundraising frenzy before the Courage Classic begins on 7/24.  Right now we are the biggest team in the Courage Classic (170 riders) but we are #3 in fundrasining ($34,380).  What’s up with that, Wheels of Justice?  I would guess that we are just warming up on the tarmac, wouldn’t you?  So let’s head down the runway and take flight this weekend – get your fundraising page ready on the Courage Classic site and then send out your first e-mail to your friends, colleagues, neighbors, clients, vendors, etc.  The key is to cast a wide net – you just never know who will give – until you ask them!  If you need any help getting going, please give me a call or shoot me an email.

2) SPECIAL BICYCLE VILLAGE COUPONS AND WOJ NIGHT OUT:  Please see the great coupon attached to an email following this newsletter which offers terrific discounts to team members from our friend at Bicycle Village: 10% off any bicycle, 20% off a bicycle accessory and 25% labor or bike-fit  (please be sure to see specific terms and restrictions on the coupon).  Also on June 11, BV will host a special bike-fit demo and reception for our team at their Aurora store, with a special coupon 40% off a cycling accessory.  Watch this newsletters for more details and please patronize our pals at Bicycle Village – they are tremendous supporters of both the Courage Classic and the Children’s Hospital!

3) Recruit Other Courage Classic Registered Riders to WoJ:  The Courage Classic is now CLOSED OUT at 2000 riders. But you can still recruit to build our team.  If you know  of anyone who is already registered for the Courage Classic but NOT affiliated with a team, please encourage them to join us.  They’ll get awesome parties, training rides, free coached rides, access to free swag, great camaraderie and the knowledge that all funds raised will go straight to the Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.  What’s not to like? So please do your best to recruit other riders who are already registered for the Courage Classic.  Currently, 168 riders have signed up for the WoJ team.  Thanks for all you’ve done to spread the word.

4) PLEASE VOLUNTEER TO HOST A RIDE TODAYJust take us along on your favorite ride – it’s that easy!  We’re happy to announce that elite rider and coach, Megan Hottman will be our Wheels of Justice Coach again this year, leading us on rides on June 21 and July 1.  Aaron Bradford will lead on June 14, Bicycle Village will host on June 27 , and I’ll host a Georgetown-Loveland Pass ride (with optional BBQ!) on July 4Plus --- this just in --  we will be joining Team Courage on a special ride on the US Air Force Academy campus on June 20! Other than that, we are open, gang, so please step up!!  To volunteer as a ride leader, please email Todd Collins at toddacollins@yahoo.com.
