Ho Cowabunga Team!
1) Wheels of Justice Gets the Big Mo Going! Can you feel it? Our team total has now reached $78,178! With only 32 days to go till the Courage Classic, we’ve achieved 31% of our goal. Nice job team! But did you know that 75 members of our team still have a $0 in their fundraising total column? Imagine if all 75 sent out emails and raised just $300 next week our total would zing past the $100K mark (I hope this is right, there was no math on the LSAT when I took it). I know life gets really busy and full, but PLEASE, GET IT GOING GANG! CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL NEEDS US more than ever this year. If you need any help getting going, please give me a call or shoot me an email.
2) Kim Linin’s Fundraising Tips Make It Personal: This week I asked Kim Linin to share her fundraising secrets with us Kim has already raised an amazing $3307 and she’s a first-timer with the Courage Classic! How does she do it? Here’s what Kim has to say: “I'm riding in the Courage Classic for the first time this year, and I'm doing it to honor my niece who was diagnosed, and treated at Children's Hospital for her deadly brain tumor that took her from us at the age of five. What's your connection to Children's? Do you have a family member or friend who was treated there? Do you have friends who work there? Personalize your e-mail, and share it with your friends and family. Some will donate money, others will donate their good thoughts for you on the ride.”
Also, here’s Kim’s email text please feel free to adapt and use for your own campaign. THANK YOU, KIM!
July 25-27, I will be joining nearly 2000 other cyclists in riding 157 miles (and lots of hills) through the Colorado Rockies in support of one the best pediatric hospitals in the nation: The Children's Hospital. As you probably know, I have an intense personal connection to The Children's Hospital because that's where my niece Brianna was diagnosed and received treatment for her deadly brain tumor. I am riding in memory of her. This is the 20th year for The Children's Hospital Courage Classic, and so far, it's raised nearly $20 million for Children's. I would like to raise $2,500 for this great cause. SECRETLY, I would like to raise the most money of anyone on my team! Children's is a non-profit, so the people there rely upon donors to help them sustain their excellence. Will you please support my ride with a donation? Your gift is tax-deductible. It's easy to give. Follow the link to my personal Web page and click the red **DONATE TO MY RIDE** button at the top of the page. You can give via credit card or bank account debit. Please consider making a donation today! Brianna, this ride is for YOU! Sincerely, Kim Linin
2) Join the Wheels of Justice on Facebook: Yes, the WOJ Facebook group is growing - now 92 members. Check out the WoJ page: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=58302100863
This is a great place to post and read communications, share pictures, discuss cycling stuff with other WOJ team members. Updates are sent out for all WOJ events, so you won't miss a training ride or any other happening. If you are not on Facebook yet, and need help signing up, shoot an email to Les.Morgan@Gmail.com and she will help you get there!
