Spring Greetings, Wheels of Justice!
NO KIDDING -- The Courage Classic Will Be Closing Out Any Day Now! Right now, we have 141 wonderful riders signed-up for the team. Way to go, gang! To build a true juggernaut for the kids at Children's, we would like to have as close to 200 riders as possible. SO, please take a moment right now to forward this email to any friends, family or colleagues who might consider joining us. Please visit www.wheelsofjusticecycling.org and click on the link that says Sign up to ride for the Wheels of Justice team in the 2008 Courage Classic.
Wheels of Justice Training Ride this Sunday April 20th!
Training ride details: http://www.wheelsofjusticecycling.org/2008/TrainingRides/042008-Training.html.
Speaking of Training Rides, Please Sign-up Today to Host a Team Training Ride Sometime between Now and the Courage Classic: We are very grateful to Todd Collins and Maggie Ruddy for organizing the training ride schedule again this year. This is truly a team effort and they need your help, gang. Here's what Todd has to say:
My name is Todd Collins , and my wife, Maggie Ruddy, and I have volunteered to organize the training rides for the WOJ this year. In short, we need volunteers to host training rides. What that means is we need you to:
Pick a date and time (Saturday or Sunday)
Provide directions to the starting point (i.e., Google-able address)
Provide a route description and map (if possible, give both easier and more challenging options on the route
Be at the start to organize and make sure everyone understands the route
Having organized training rides last year, we received great feedback on how we might improve the rides. One of the primary challenges is to expand the rides to accommodate more riding levels, especially at the beginning of the season. Which means we need more volunteers. That said, we need your help. My wife and I are expecting and will not likely host many rides this year. We have a volunteer for June 21st for a Castle Rock area ride. For the first 6 weeks or so, we would like to have one intense ride and one easier ride every weekend. It would also be great to have an occasional weeknight ride, too, if the team is up for it. Please let us know if you can host a ride by emailing toddacollins@yahoo.com. Please let us know the date, time, starting location and route description. If you do not know many rides, take a look at Team Evergreen's web site. They have posted several fantastic rides. http://www.teamevergreen.org. There are several other websites as well as bike shops in Denver that can provide you the details necessary to host a ride. Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Todd and Maggie
One last note: Please mark your calendars for the Wheels of Justice Kick-Off Party on May 13th at 6pm at Delaney's at the Celtic Tavern in LoDo! More details to follow. See you there!
All the best,
Heather
