Hello Team:

Well, here you all are in your full spandex splendor!

Hopefully, this pic will bring back lots of fond memories and inspire each of us to add that last bit of effort in the final week to maximize the impact of our effort together.  Only $100 more from each rider's fundraising efforts in the next week will put us over the top!  Thanks in advance for anything you can do and everything you've done to get us this far.

Also FYI, the Spin Doctors have generated a huge surge in their fundraising since the Courage Classic and are now the #2 team on the Courage Classic with $180K raised.  They also have a $200K goal this year.  And our brothers and sisters on the #1 Research Riders team have raised over $332K at this point! Awesome! Healthy competition with such worthy and dedicated teams is a good thing, in my opinion, when the ultimate winners are the kids, families and doctors at Children's Hospital.

WoJ Lookout Mountain Ride--Sunday 8am:

If you are up for it, please join me for a ride up/down Lookout Mountain on Sunday from my house in the Highlands.  It's about 40 miles round-trip w/ a 2000 ft climb up/down Lookout.  If you want a shorter "spa" route, you can stop for a latte at the Starbuck's in Golden and then head back without the climb.  Please RSVP by email to me by Saturday morning.  I'll have bagels, coffee etc for all who RSVP starting at 7:30am--we'll depart at 8am.

WoJ Reception and Tour of the New Children's Hospital:

Save the Date--Thursday, October 25, 6:00 - 8:00 pm:

The Children's Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders has kindly offered to give our team a wonderful reception and tour at the brand, spankin' new state-of-the-art Children's Hospital on the Fitzsimmons Campus. We'll learn about the research and treatments that our hard-earned $$ will be supporting and we'll also be thanking our wonderful sponsors (listed below). Please RSVP to Wanda Castleman (wcastleman@tchfden.org) or 720-777-1716 by October 19th.

WoJ Google Groups Site is Live--

Please join and we'll stay in tough for rides, parties and fun year-round! You are invited to join the Wheels of Justice discussion / team information site hosted by Google Groups.

Click on this link, http://groups.google.com/group/team-woj/ and follow the instructions to join. If you have any problem signing up or questions, please email Alan Garber at info@wheelsofjusticecycling.org so he can assist you. Thanks Alan for setting up this great site!

We'll use this site to stay in touch year-round, share past training rides and invite each other to join in on new ones, share pictures and plan future parties, happy hours and other events.

On this site the team can post:

  • Information and maps about training rides (yes, we can keep riding together through the fall!)
  • Pictures (there are some great ones there now!)
  • training and riding techniques discussions
  • information about team recruitment and team goals
  • discuss all things related to the Courage Classic tour, Children's Hospital and our team
  • reminders of crucial deadlines, like when to send us your jersey size, etc.

As a Wheels of Justice member you are encouraged to sign up and help us realize the full potential of a online group.

As a member of the Google Groups you can post messages, which will be sent to all other group members who have signed onto this feature. This functions like a listserv, which is a mailing list program for communicating with other people who have subscribed to the same list. Using e-mail, you can participate in listservs pertaining to your topics of interest. When you submit a message to the server, your message is relayed to all those on the listserv who have signed up to receive. You receive messages from other participants via e-mail. It is similar to computer conferencing, but a listserv is asynchronous. That email address is team-woj@googlegroups.com.

What is Google Groups? http://www.google.com/googlegroups/about.html.
If you have any question about this, please contact Alan Garber at agarber@gmail.com.
Again, here's the link to join! http://groups.google.com/group/team-woj/

Questions? Concerns? Ideas for Improvement?

Please feel free to contact me by email or phone -- I would love to hear your ideas for making Wheels of Justice an even better experience for our riders and their families and for Children's Hospital. You are all the very best!

OK, that's it for now! Let's keep the big mo' going till we cross that $200K finish line on 8/31.

All the best,

Heather
